High Note

So January ends on a high note; fifty-five degrees and sunny.  It was lovely hot tub weather and weather to run errands in.  It is so much easier to get in and out of the car when it isn't snowing. We made a trip to Kohls and got one more new suitcase and a frame and some unmentionables for yours truly.
I had to get a filling put in a front tooth where one fell out, but the dentist was fast; I was out of there in twenty minutes.  Then, a quick trip to the Dollar Tree and and dip in the tubby with my face in the sun.  Now I am Jammy girl...reading and sitting in my favorite chair; the one where the sun hits...of course.  I did some dusting, because I could see it in the sun, but just the things I could see. Ha! I guess I will have to finish up tomorrow...which is February 1st....Yipee!!

Playing In The Snow

I never could have imagined myself doing this a year ago, but boy was it fun.  It was nice to have someone fun to do this with.  Who, but a child, would stick their tongue out and try to catch snowflakes or laugh when huge snowflakes landed on our eyelashes (hey isn't there a song something like that?)  My spirits were lifted, my headache stopped, and I felt relaxed and energized at the same time.

From The Heart

"Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor Him."  Romans 14:6 NLT

"So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.  Romans 14:19 NLT

"The earth is the Lord's and everything in it.  The world and all its people belong to him...They will receive the Lord's blessing and have a right relationship with God their Savior.  Such people may seek you and worship in your presence." Ps. 24:1,5,6 NLT

Jammy Girl

Small group? Jammys?  Some people make you feel so at home in their house.  When I asked Kelly if I could wear my jammys to small group at their house, she said yes.  I am not sure if she thought at the time that I was serious.  When I showed up in my jammys she said "you did wear them." And that was that.  Okay Dottie, wipe the shock off your face.  You might remember that at Christmas Kelly and Honey said we could wear our pjs to their house and so I did, and was happy to see they had theirs on too.
Donaldo said I could wear them last night so I did and I was so comfy and cozy especially sitting by the fireplace. These aren't any old pjs; these are my NEW Cuddle Dud brand.  They are thick, soft and not worn looking.  The tops is like a t-shirt; it even has pockets on it.  I have to admit, I felt a little funny when I walked in, but this group is easy peasy.
What is it about jammys?  Comfort, cozy, and elastic, and warm; I have them on winter or summer when I am home. This requires a variety of jammys; it is a whole other wardrobe.  My favorite are the capri jammy bottoms worn with a t-shirt.  That is my spring, summer and fall favorite.
Thankfully, Kelly is a jammy girl too; it was nice to come home last night, watch a little tv and then go to bed....in my jammys.

Journal

I read today's devotion in Sarah Young's book "Jesus calling:  Seeking Peace in His Presence."  I had to journal it; so I got my notebook and colored pencils and drew the visual that she so wonderfully painted in words.
"Trust is a golden pathway to heaven.  When you walk on this path, you live above your circumstances.  My glorious Light shines more brightly on those who follow this path of Life.  Dare to walk on the high road with Me, for it is the most direct route to heaven.  The low road is circuitous:  twisting and turning in agonizing knots.  There the air hangs heavy, and dark, ominous clouds predominate.  Relying on your own understand will weigh you down.  Trust in Me absolutely, and I will make your path straight."

Rat-A-Tat-Tat And Other Things.

Okay the MRI I am having tonight; can't wait.  It should really help my headache......NOT.  I am not looking forward to it-the noise (rat-a-tat-tat and other torturous noises) and the claustrophobia!!  Oh well, I decided to pray for everyone I know while I'm in there because there are a LOT of things to pray for.
Here's my list for today's activities:  (ha ha sort of like a Senior Citizen's home)
1.  Don and I went to Trader Joesph's to stock up and get some extra stuff to take to Florida; you know the essentials we can't live without.  Ran into the Donald's brother, Todd.
2.  Did some scrapbooking trying to finish Amelia's first year book.  I just finished 9 months-almost there.
3.  We decided to skip swimming this morning; it was nice to have a quiet morning.
4.  Plan to eat out after the MRI because it's at 5:30
5.  Having pizza flat-bread from TJ's for lunch.  Added a healthy salad and an apple.
6.  Talked to my sister Forty No More who has been sick and gave her 3 prescriptions to feel better: yogurt, Acidophiles or probiotics, and coconut juice.  She told me to send her the bill. Oh, I said to to call the doctor and check out the medication she thinks is making her sick.
7.  Did a load of laundry
8.  Plan to watch American Idol tonight
9.  Read my daughter's blog "On the Bright Side" listed on the side of my blog.  She is a very good writer.
10. That's about it; looking forward being home tonight and getting my jammys on and then going to bed.

Can't believe this day would be of any interest to anyone else....yawn......

So....How's it Going?

It's kind of hard getting used to a new blog, especially one that is by invitation only.  I would rather have an open one, but for the time being this will do.  Let me know if you have any trouble getting on it.
I have been wondering if anyone besides me scrapbooks anymore.  Then I got an email from my friend Trenda who would like to go to Scrappy Chic some night when they have a crop night.  Even though I have a dedicated scrapbook room at home, I would love to go some night with her.  They have redone the whole place with a huge open scrapbooking room with a fireplace. It looks so bright and roomy.  I told Trenda I would love to go sometime after we get back from Florida.  I have been thinking of easy ways to get more scrapbooking done by making easy layouts and not spending so much time on them; otherwise I will never get done in my lifetime.  I am now finishing Amelia's baby book; she is the last of 7 that I need to finish.  All their books are the smaller ones and they go from birth to age one. I try to do a few pages once a day; it doesn't always work out, but it's a good goal to have.  The kids love looking at their book.
Another way to facilitate completeing more books is not too use too many pictures-I need to part with some of them-so hard for me to do.
I also have several books started, I need to finish them one at a time before I start a new one.  Ah....still a passion of mine even though I am running out of ideas for layouts.  It's time to start copying some from older books.
I have also made some "books" from shutterfly using pictures that I have downloaded there.  They even make the book for you if you want and you just make minor changes.
I have learned to use pictures to make greeting cards and cards for the kids using photos of them; this is another way or preserving pictures.  I also made a few calendars for some of the kids this year-plan to do more next year.
These are just some ideas on how to get a handle on the many pictures that I take.  Putting pictures on the blog has been a big asset also.
Now excuse me while I do some scrapbooking, which by the way, the word "scrapbooking" is not a proper word in spell check; it is not recognized as a word.  Maybe some day.

Icky

I just can't put all my thoughts together today to form one coherent blog. You see I got my hair colored and cut today and while that's not on my list of things I'd rather not do-I don't find it pleasant. It's all that smelly goop that sits on your head for some 25 minutes.  I get so cold while I'm waiting and then it starts itching when you have 10 minutes left and I'm sure some of it is eking it's way into my brain and killing off a few brain cells.   Oh, but the feeling of having it washed off is glorious and the haircut and blow-dry afterwards makes it all worthwhile. Then the itching at the neckline starts with all those little cut hairs that find their way down under your shirt no matter how hard your hairdresser tries to avoid it.  I make my hairdresser rinse my hair again after the cut before she blows it dry and then I take another shirt to put on after she is all done.  I tip her a little extra, then I am free to go about my business the rest of the day with my new "do."  Why do they make it look so much better than you can?

From The Heart

"Men will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.  And He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens....I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.  Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." Mark 13: 26, 27, 30, 31

End Of Week Wrap-Up

First of all, I got the idea for this blog from Capri K who is full of blog ideas and a list-maker extraordinaire!
Second of all, welcome to my new blog; circumstances made me change course here right before my seventh-year anniversary of blogging.  So this is a closed blog and if you are reading this, you got an invitation to be part of my blog.  Thank you for taking time to read this.  The week was profitable as I acclimated back to real life.
*I finished unpacking, keeping in mind I have to pack again in 3 weeks.
*I put the rest of my Christmas and winter stuff away
*I lost the four pounds I gained on the cruise
*I finished a scrapbook yesterday
*Finished the laundry-even the tablecloth and napkins from Christmas.
*Unwrapped my purchases and sent braided bracelets to the grands from Mexico
*Started a new book
*Fought off Donaldo's cold with my turmeric steamer (Recipe on my other blog http://marlene-aspoonfulofsugar.blogspot.com/
*Dusted the house.

That's pretty good for the first week.  Everyday I thought about "what was I doing this time last week?"  I thought I would sneak in a few last pictures for your visual perusal.

Would I rather be looking at this snow (beautiful as it is?) or.......

......or watch a sunset off the balcony of a cruise ship

A piece of Mexican pottery that we bought

I bought this hand-made shirt.  I got the guy down to $10 off, but no more.  I even left and came back

Such a pretty silver bracelet.  I got a real bargain on this.

Now I am going to sit back and drink my warm Chai Tea and read a book.  I deserve a rest after a week like this!  Ha!  Feel free to leave a comment :)
